Huw Dixon

This work was started on 16^th April 2024 and finished on 20^th in Sibelius. It was then transferred to Pro tools. It is based on four chords that use all twelve notes of the chromatic scale.  The piece first goes through various permutations of these four chords, and in the middle section does a full “circle of 5ths” transposing the chords.  Above this is a violin part with a secondary trombone. Below it is a bass line.  The drums are inspired by the Police (message in a bottle), with the reggae “third beat”.

This use of permutations of chords was the precursor to Four Candles (Huw David Dixon). Some day I hope to get Neil Dixon to perform the violin part of New Dodecon.
